Welcome to Highland! The ASB crew from the Class of 2020 has a few words of advice for our incoming Freshmen! Originally for the Class of 2024, THEY WORK JUST AS WELL FOR THE CLASS OF 2025. So - Let's ROCK the P-L-A-I-D Class of 2025!

Hey hey Super Scots!  Here's some tips and tricks on how to have four amazing plaid-tastic years of high school.  Hey class of 2024.  Welcome to Highland!  I'm Matthew Ortiz graduate class of 2020. I had a great experience here at Highland, and I'm sure you will too.  I am here to tell you some things that are pretty cool about Highland and why you should be excited to come here.  What does it mean to be a Scot?  What does it mean to come to Highland?  And what does it mean to be Scot means that you show P-L-A-I-D.  You have to show pride in yourself, pride in where you come from, pride in your school.  You show leadership.  You do what's right.  You encourage others to do the right thing as well.  You have a great attitude! An eager attitude to learn.  An eager attitude to be a good person.  You show integrity.  Do the right thing when no one's watching. You show determination.  You never give up. You never quit.  You're determined to do what's right - you're determined to be the greatest person you can be.  For one - I know a lot of you guys might be nervous or scared going into High School; but trust me it will the greatest four years of your lives if you make It that way.  My biggest advice would be to get involved.  Sports, clubs, rallies.  Don't be shy to go rallies or football games.  Don't worry decked out at about people looking at you all weird because you're going all crazy at events.  Because trust me doing those things will make your high school experience ten times more memorable.  Counselors and teachers are really supportive.  You just, I mean you got to keep a good GPA because if you want to join a club or sport pretty much a lot of them - you have to keep a 2.0 or 2.5.  Amazing Teachers!  I had Mr. Parra, Ms. Martinez, Senorita Herrera. They are some of my favorite teachers and I promise you once you go to the school you will love them just as much as I love just as much as I love them!  But, treat them with respect and they will treat you with respect. Always remember to be respectful to the Administrators in the office because they're doing anything that they can to help you out.  The counselors are super supportive, teachers are really supportive you can almost tell them anything and…   Now we won’t see you next year; but, we wish you the best of luck.  Byeeee!
