General ANNOUNCEMENTS:

First Woman Representative: Shirley Chisholm was the first African American woman elected to the House of Representatives. She was elected in 1968 and represented the state of New York. She broke ground again four years later in 1972 when she was the first major party African-American candidate and the first female candidate for president of the United States.

Hey Scots, listen up, listen up. TODAY at 7:00 p.m. in the WAH is the talent show and Abby Hargestam and Tori Benavidez will host it. We have acts from singing to dancing, to rapping and poetry. Don’t miss out on seeing some amazing talent. Purchase your tickets in the finance office.  The HHS Talent Show is this Friday, February 9th at 7p.m.  Presale tickets available now for $5 in the Finance Office.

Seniors – If you did not order with Herff Jones on Wednesday during lunch – don’t stress!!! You can order on line at HerffJones.com or go by their office.  You must order by February 28th to avoid the late fee!! That is also the deadline for rentals.  Please see Mrs. Barber-Smith with any questions.

Attention Winter Athletes: The Scholar Athlete Awards are right around the corner on February 20th. Stop by the counseling area or the athletic office to see if your name is posted. *You must have a 3.5 GPA for your semester 1 grades to receive a scholar athlete award. Congratulations on your achievement!

Friday February 9th is No One Eats Alone Day! Keep an eye out for classroom marked with balloons that will be open for you to join. Grab a new friend and spread some shine! See Mrs. Mawhirter for questions.

Students are not allowed to park at the staff parking lot by the administration building.  Students who park at the staff parking lot will be cited.  Thank you.

The cafeteria staff will be serving Dinner Monday thru Friday 4:30- 6:00 in the cafeteria.

Interested in cheer-leading! Tryouts are coming quickly; we will be holding clinics and tryouts the week of March 19-23! If you are interested and have more questions, please see Abe in room 4I! More information is to come!

SENIORS-Do you want extra money for college?  Seniors-The LAST Cash 4 College Workshop will be on Thursday, February 15th, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:30. Please bring your parents and last year’s tax returns. There will be plenty of assistants to guide you through Financial aid and can help with all questions and concerns. FAFSA closes on March 1st 2018.

Seniors-Its Scholarship season and Mrs. Carter has tons of scholarship information for you. Please come by 2A, the Career Center for more information.

Students: Did you lose a pair of glasses? Maybe in the library? Come to the library to claim them.
