First Woman Representative: Shirley Chisholm was the first African American woman elected to the House of Representatives. She was elected in 1968 and represented the state of New York. She broke ground again four years later in 1972 when she was the first major party African-American candidate and the first female candidate for president of the United States.

Attention Winter Athletes: The Scholar Athlete Awards are right around the corner on February 20th. Stop by the counseling area or the athletic office to see if your name is posted. *You must have a 3.5 GPA for your semester 1 grades to receive a scholar athlete award. Congratulations on your achievement!

SENIORS-Do you want extra money for college? Seniors-The LAST Cash 4 College Workshop will be on Thursday, February 15th, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:30. Please bring your parents and last year’s tax returns. There will be plenty of assistants to guide you through Financial aid and can help with all questions and concerns. FAFSA closes on March 1st 2018.
