Good Morning Scots! Just a reminder NEXT WEEK is HOMECOMING WEEK!  This year's theme:  Welcome to OUR Swamp!  Check out the DRESS UP DAYS below:  

 

Monday – Once Upon a Monday (school appropriate pajamas) - It's story-time!  Get cozied up for bed and don your school appropriate pajamas. 

Tuesday – Fairy Tale Tuesday (fairy tale character) - Let imagination flow and dress up as your favorite fairy-tale book character.

Wednesday – Dynamic Duo (partner in crime or twin) - Find the Shrek to your Fiona or the Donkey to your Dragon and display the strongest of bonds by finding your partner in crime.

Thursday – Far Far Away Into the Future (future career) - Mirror, mirror on the wall, which career do you want most of all?  Dress up in your future career attire!

Friday – This is OUR Swamp (green and blue) - Represent the Swamp by wearing your Blue and Green or Homecoming shirts!  Then come to the Homecoming Game against Foothill tonight!

Congratulations to this year’s Homecoming Court Nominees!!  Queen Nominees are:  Madison Lopez, Sadie Armijo, Kaitlyn Espinoza and Destiny Stancil.  King Nominees are: Josh Lopez, Sid Reyes, Chico Cooper and Cade Sakamoto.  Be sure to come out and vote next Wednesday at lunch and find out who the winners are at the Homecoming game!

Did you know that in 1999, the book Fallen Angels, about the Vietnam War, was banned for having “violence” and “too many swear words?” Express your Right to Read by reading this and other Banned Books at your library this week!

Boys Basketball Meeting Monday, October2nd at lunch in Coach Lumsden's room 7H.

Attention students: if you are in need of community service hours we got what you need! Wesley Methodist church is looking for student volunteers to help unload pumpkins for their upcoming pumpkin patch. It will take place on October 8th @ 12:30 p.m. If you are interested stop by the ACT/ATH office to sign up.   

Students and Staff – Need a poster for someone’s birthday or maybe for your favorite athlete?  Don’t have any artistic abilities? ASB can help!!  ASB can make you a poster for a small fee.  Poster request forms are available in the Athletics Office or in the ASB Room. Please submit payment to the Finance Office and return receipt and form to Mrs. Barber-Smith in 14A.

  • Kindness club meets every Tuesday at lunch in room 5H with Mrs. Mawhirter, grab some lunch and bring your shine!

  • “If you were 1 of the 50 people that signed up for Drama Club, make sure to come to the first meeting on Friday during lunch time. The meeting will take place in room 14-F with Mr. Thompson”

  • Anyone interested in filming or being filmed? Or just plain interested in YouTube videos? Well we have the club for you. MEDIA CLUB! Come check us out during lunch today in room 4E! We will have an informational meeting!! Have a video idea, but just don’t have the time to create it? Media Club can help! We will create videos for a fee! We will free consultation. Just come by 4E!

  • We have five University reps coming to campus in the next two weeks. Go to the Career Center to sign up to meet with them.

  • COLLEGE SHIRT WEDNESDAYS are back!  STUDENTS & STAFF - Wear your college gear every Wednesday in support Highland’s College Going Culture.  Stop by the Career Center and show off your gear and get a treat!
