ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • How good are you at basketball? Come and show your skills at a 3 pointer game by the 8 building next Tuesday the 28th.
  • Attention winter athletes:  If you were unable to make the Scholar athlete awards, stop by the Ath/Act office in 3G before school, during lunch or after school to pick up your award.
  • Students: The Highland High French Club invites you to “BE OUR GUEST” for a special gathering at the Maya Cinemas.  Buy your discounted ticket for the new Disney movie Beauty and the Beast for March 18th at 1215pm.  The cost is only $7 per person!  Let’s fill up the theater with Highland High students and family and show how our PRIDE in the PLAID!  Just in case you’re wondering…the movie will be in ENGLISH!   Pay at the finance office and the last day to purchase a ticket to this event is March 10th.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. DeLateur in room 7C.
  • Seniors – If you ordered a senior panoramic picture in the Fall, the pictures are in! Stop by the Activities/Athletics Office before school, during lunch or after school to pick up.
  • Winter Formal pictures are in! Stop by the Activities/Athletics Office before school, during lunch or after school to pick up.
  • Seniors – If you have not ordered your cap and gown from Herff Jones yet, please do so before February 28th.  After February 28th, the cost will go up and on-line ordering will no longer be available. Also, the 28th is the last day to rent cap and gowns from the District.  Please contact Herff Jones or stop by the Activities/Athletics Office with any questions.

  • PG&E and Boys & Girls Club have teamed up for the CAREER LAUNCH program that could lead to a 6 week PAID Summer Internship – APPS available in Career Center DUE March 1st.
  • Want to be a Lifeguard or Swim Instructor?  Sign up for 2017 Lifeguard Academy.  Don’t miss the next Pre-Assessment date coming soon February 25th at McMurtrey Aquatic Center 661-852-7430.
  • Bakersfield College is having a Cash for College Workshop – and giving the BC Assessment Test – the same day!  Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 25th.  See Ms. Courtis for more details
  • Do you ever wish you had a Rockin’ Resume to attach to apps for jobs, internships or scholarships?  Then sign-up today for a Resume Workshop coming up on March 15th during 5th period in the Career Center.

FROM THE DEAN’s OFFICE:

  • Reminder –Attention Students – It is important for you to be on time to each period, every day. Remember that when you are marked late to first period 2 or more times in a week, you will be assigned after school detention. Also, expect more tardy sweeps starting today. The best way to avoid being assigned after school detention is to be on time to class.
  • This is a reminder to all students that only Highland hats, beanies, and head coverings that are allowed on campus. Non-Highland hats, beanies, and head coverings are subject to confiscation and repeat offenders may be subject to further disciplinary action.
