Announcements:

 

  • Scots- Our next rally is this Friday for Springfest! Be sure to wear your most tropical outfits and bring your school spirit to get ready for Spring Break! 

 

  • Hey Scots! Thursday’s Bevis & Butthead Day, so recreate any Iconic duo!

 

  • Reminder: Any type of breakable egg being smashed on a student will result in discipline.  Any eggs seen will be confiscated.  Please take pride in a clean campus and display a positive attitude towards school.  Thank you.   Plaid up.  

 

  • Powder Puff is this Thursday at 6pm. Pre Sale tickets can be purchased for $5 from any football player. Prices go up the day of the game. See Coach Gutierrez if you have any questions.

 

  • Attention all seniors: Please sign up with Mrs. Hernandez in the administration office if you’re interested in auditioning as a third speaker for graduation. You will be given the speech parameters when you sign up. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, April 29th by 4pm.  Auditions will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 4pm in the WAH.

 

  • Students - Prom bids are now on sale. They are $55 with an ASB sticker and $60 without. You can purchase your bids in the morning, at lunch and after school. The finance office closes PROMPTLY at 410pm. Make sure you have your CURRENT 2025 ID and ALL debt must be cleared. Questions? See Ms. DeLateur in room 5B.  Prices will increase after Spring Break.  Get your bids by Thursday April 10 to save money.

 

 

  • Scots! Do you want to plan activities for your class next year? Plan fundraising or plan the Homecoming floats? Apply for next year's class councils! Applications are available in the Activities Office and due April 24th. 

 

  • Calling all Scots! Are you hungry? Our next food sale is this Thursday! Come on out for boba, dirty fries, burritos, chic fila and much more! Once you grab your food, come back to the quad for lawn chair day! Bring a chair or blanket to enjoy your lunch with your friends. Teachers- you're invited too! 

 

  • Seniors! Scholarship deadlines are quickly approaching. Do not forget to apply for the Press for Success Memorial Scholarship, which is only available to Highland students. See Ms. Moore in 4E or Ms. Yubeta in the Career Center 2A for your application. It is due on May 2nd! Don't leave free money on the table.

 

  • Interested in taking the ASVAB TEST?? You can take the test here on campus in the Library Wednesday April 23 (periods 1stthrough 3rd). Just come by Room 2A and scan the QR code on the door. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by and see Mrs. Yubeta in Room 2A.

 

  • Are you interested in attending SJVC? On Thursday May 1stthey will be on campus in Room 2A during 3rd period to present their various medical and trade programs they have to offer. If you're interested in hearing about all the benefits SJVC offers, please fill out the google form on your Senior canvas page. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Yubeta in Room 2A.

 

Club News:

 

  • The Highland Chess Club competed here at Highland this past Saturday in a chess tournament against other high schools. Congratulations to Andrew Nielsen for placing 16th, Isaac Garcia for placing 17th, Marckus Flores 24th, and Mark Beadle 34thin the open section. If you see them on campus, make sure to congratulate them! Interested in joining Highland's Chess Club? We meet on Wednesdays after school and during lunch in classroom 5C. It's never too late to join the Chess Club."
