Announcements:

 

  • Iron Man permissions slips will be available today in boy's locker room with coach Smith or coach Cerna. These are required to participate. There are only 12 Jr. boy spots and 12 senior boy spots, so it will be first come, first serve. Permission slips are due Wednesday February 19th. Shirts will be available for purchase through the finance office and online. For questions, come see coach Cerna. 

 

  • On Valentines Day we will be having a “heart attack”. Every student will have a heart with their name on it. 9th graders’ hearts will be on the gym window, 10th grades will be on the cafeteria, 11th grade on the PAC window and 12th grades will be on the Activities Office and the Library. We encourage you to find your heart and take a picture with it. Make sure to post it @hhscots.

 

  • Staff! We didn’t forget about you! Check out the windows by the attendance office.

 

  • Scots! On Valentines Day wear red if you are taken, pink if it’s complicated and white if you are single.

 

  • Scots! Please join us on Valentine’s Day by the gym during lunch to get a kiss at ASB’s kiss booth.

 

  • Love doesn't pay the bills, come and find a career Friday Feb 14thduring lunch in the gym to learn about various careers from professionals in the community.

 

  • AP Students - if you put down a deposit in November for your test, the balance is due by Feb 20th.  That deadline is approaching so don't miss it or your test will be canceled.  If you missed the November deadline to order a test, you could still order a test with a late fee.  The deadline is Feb. 20th.  

 

  • Scots! We are still collecting school and classroom supplies for Palisades High School which was affected by the fires down in LA.  Right now, the 2nd period classes with DeLateur, Savage and Parra in the lead of the competition for donuts.  If you want to participate, let your 2ndperiod teacher know!  The deadline is this Friday! 

 

  • Seniors! Friday is the last day to order your cap and gown before the price goes up! You can order online at Jostens.com. 

 

  • Black history fact of the day: Mary Walker was certified as the Nation’s Oldest Student by the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. Born in 1848 in Union Springs, Alabama, she was enslaved until she was 15 years old when the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863. She learned to read, write, add, and subtract in a one-hour lesson two times a week for more than a year at 116 years old. Walker received A number of medals and accolades for her endurance and determination before passing away at 121 years old.

  • Hey Scots did you know that February 15th-22nd is National FFA Week!  In honor of FFA week, FFA will be hosting many events throughout next week! Hope to see you there!

 

  • On February 21th- at lunch will be Kiss A Pig throughout the next 2 weeks teachers will compete by raising money, the teacher with the  most money will have to Kiss A Pig. Donate to the following teachers to have them Kiss a Pig. Gillett- Room 3I, McGrath- Room 3H, Begin- Room 16D, Donez- Room 12A, MBS- Activities Office, Valdez- 14D
