Fact 2: The university was known as San Fernando Valley State College until 1969 when it was officially named California State University, Northridge. Fact 3: In 1994 the Northridge area was hit by a devastating 6.7-magnitude earthquake. Fortunately, the school had no fatalities but sustained over $400 million in damage to buildings and infrastructure. Congratulations to AVID Seniors Christian Medina and Andrea Martinez for being accepted to CSUN!
