Announcements:

• Kern Community Foundation will be hosting a FREE Scholarship Workshop here at Highland for our Seniors.  This workshop will make you eligible for over 50 scholarships and over $3 million dollars in scholarships.   It will be Wednesday January 29^thin 2A 6^th  Please sign up using the link that is in your CANVAS Class of 2025 Counseling page or go by and see Ms. Yubeta in 2A or go by your counselor’s office for the QR Code.

• Current Sophomores and Juniors who want to go to either ROC or CTEC Field Trip. Students will be accepted on the field trip based on when the permission slip is returned.  There are 50 spots for each trip (students may only go on one of the field trips).  LAST Day to turn in a permission slip is February 12th at 4pm no exceptions.   To get a permission slip you must go to 2A Before School, at lunch or after school and pick up a permission slip from Ms. Yubeta. Make sure you get the correct permission slip and return it as soon as you can.

• Hi Scots, do you guys have siblings that attend Highland? Do you also want to be in the yearbook? Sibling pictures are being taken for the yearbook, if you would like to be included, come to the Library this Thursday January 30^th at the beginning of lunch.

• AP STUDENTS - Don't forget - late payments for AP exams are still being accepted in the finance office until Feb.20th!

• Seniors!  Jostens will be on campus one last time on Tuesday, January 28^thtaking cap and

• JUNIORS - Have you decided to take the SAT in March?  Then get your payment into the finance office or go talk to Ms. Yubeta in the Career Center if you qualify for a free test.  Your name must be on the list to get the test ordered.  Either way, you only have until January 31st to sign up - don't delay!

• Students, if you received a letter that you qualify for the State Seal of Biliteracy, and you missed our first testing date, you have two more options to take the test. Please stop by the Title 1/ELD Office located in building 4 to sign up to take the test. If you have questions about whether or not you qualify, please come by, and we can check for you. This is a huge honor, and we want to make sure that you have the chance to earn this gold seal for your diploma!  Our next on campus testing date is Thursday, January 30, during periods 1-3. You also have an opportunity to test on Saturday, February 8 in the Highland cafeteria, 8-12pm. Stop by Title 1/ELD if you have questions.
