Announcements:
- Have you received a PLAID poker chip from a staff member? Bring it to 7A, 7K, or 4PF to get your PLAID points! ALSO, there are new items in the PLAID store. Check the MTSS tab on your Student Vue to purchase your rewards! The items you purchase will be delivered to your first period class on Fridays.
- Seniors! Jostens will be on campus one last time on Tuesday, January 28thtaking cap and gown orders at lunch outside of the Finance Office. Please be sure to come by to place your order. You can also order on-line at jostens.com. Prices go up in February, so please don't delay!
- Are you a senior and want to go to Grad Night this May! Tickets go on sale Monday, January 27th. This year Grad Night is at 6 Flags Magic Mountain and are $135. You must have a signed permission slip to purchase a ticket at the Finance Office and your school ID. Permission slips are available in the Activities/Athletics Office.
- Juniors - are you planning on taking the SAT this spring? You are in luck! Highland will be offering the SAT on Tuesday, March 11th. The cost is $60 but qualified students can take the test for free. To see if you qualify, go to the Career Center in room 2A. Juniors that pay for the test can register for it in the finance office. Don't delay - reserve your spot today!
- AP Students - May will be upon us before we know it and it's time to finalize the exam order. If you would like to take an AP exam you can still sign up in the finance office with a $40 late fee (government students - late fee does not apply to you) by February 20th. If you made a $40 non-refundable deposit, the balance that you owe is due by February 20th to the finance office. There are no on-line payments for AP tests - all payments must be made to the finance office. Don't delay - get your payments in today!

- Are you interested in writing stories, novels, songs, or poems? If you do, then you should join the Creative Writing Club! We will be having weekly meetings at lunch on Wednesdays in room 3B, stop by today at lunch!
- Good morning, Scots! It's time for AVID’s College of the Week. This week our school is California State University, Bakersfield. Here are some facts about CSUB. The top major at CSUB is business administration and management. CSUB has 16 D1 sports teams. There are over 65 undergraduate and graduate degree programs at CSUB. Congratulations to AVID seniors Serenity Baker, Jonathan Elizondo, Lylianah Faz, Christian Garcia, Nick Hernandez, Christian Medina, and Arisbeth Noyola for being accepted to CSUB!
