- Hey Scots! Highland's fall play, PUFFS, opens this Friday, November 1stat 7pm in the WAH! Tickets are general admission and cost $10 at the door. Doors open at 6:30pm! This play is perfect for Halloween and the Fall season, so come join us as we adventure through a magical school of wizards and witches during the same time a certain famous boy wizard named Harry attended the school. But this story isn't about him! Come see a new side to the story as we follow the Puffs! We will have costume contests, and prizes for the best dressed wizards and witches repping their houses! November 1st is Puffs night, November 2nd is Smarts night, November 8th is Snakes night, and November 9th is Braves night! For more information, see Mr. Thompson in room 8C!
- Good morning, Scots! It’s time for AVID’s College of the week. This week, our institution is the United States Military Academy at West Point. Fun fact: Did you know that attending a college or military academy prior to enlisting increases your chances of climbing ranks faster? Graduating from West Point immediately commissions you as a Second Lieutenant. West Point was established in 1802, in New York state. The academy was founded by Thomas Jefferson to produce and train competent officers for the expanding U.S. Army. West Point is a competitive school, with many requirements needed to be accepted including a competitive ACT or SAT score, a Congressional or Service-connected nomination and commitment to joining the United States Army. However, when you get accepted and graduate, the possibilities afterwards are limitless.
