Announcements:

 

  • Seniors! If you have not ordered your cap and gown yet, please go to Jostens.com to order.  If you need a Jostens packet, they are in the Activities Office.  You also need to make sure you have taken your free yearbook picture with Carlos Murillo. The deadline for the yearbook is October 31st!

 

  • Students!  Scotty's new love interest needs a name! Be sure to vote in your 2ndperiod class for what our new mascot's name should be!  We will announce her new name at next week's Homecoming Rally.  Be sure to use the following link:  https://forms.gle/BzRBtMGzwAAbVXPV8 or use the QR code:

 

  • Scots! Homecoming is next week!!  Scotty's Year in a Week will be in full effect!  The dress up days are: Monday is Valentine's Day, Tuesday is 4thof July, Wednesday is Halloween, Thursday is Christmas or Winter and Friday is Highland gear and colors!

 

  • Reminder:  Students must be in good standing to attend Highland events.  Students may be denied entry to games if they have discipline or attendance issues. 

 

  • Who's still in the game?  Roshambo is all week long! Remember you must have at least 5 white beads before you can challenge a teacher. Gold beads are worth more!  If you lose your beads, you can buy more with 5 PLAID points in Ms. Nelson's room 4-PF.  The people with the most beads on Friday will win prizes - come by the Activities Office at lunch to see if you won!

 

  • Scots! Homecoming is next week!  We will be celebrating Scotty's Year in a Week!  Wednesday is Club Rush Day and Homecoming Court voting, Thursday is Food Sale Day, Friday is our Homecoming Rally and football game and Saturday is our Homecoming Dance in the gym.  We will also be having dress up days all week! Let's Goooooooo!!

 

  • Students - You must have your school ID to do transactions at the Finance Office.  IF you don't have your ID yet, please go by the library to pick it up before school, lunch or after school.  If you lost yours, go by the library to take an ID picture.  

 

  • Breast Cancer Awareness month is right around the corner, and if you would like to support the Lady Scots Volleyball Program, buy a t-shirt in support of the cause by going to the online student store, which can be found on the Highland High School website under "campus life" Shirts are $20."

 

Club News:

 

  • Scots! Girls Soccer conditioning starts Monday September 30th at 3:30pm. Student athletes must be medically clear to participate. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Pedro [email protected]

 

  • Hispanic Heritage fact of the day: Did you know that in Guatemala there are more than 30 volcanoes. If you are interested in seeing an active volcano, Guatemala is you next place to travel to! Hope you are all working on your door decorations as a way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month. The competition ends this Friday and will be judged next week. 

 

  • Good morning, Scots! It’s time for AVID’s College of the Week. This week our school is UC San Diego! Fact 1: UC San Diego recently rose to No.3 among public U.S. Universities and No.18 worldwide! Fact 2: UCSD is built on top of two former military bases, Camp Mathews and Camp Callan. Fact 3: UCSD’s selective majors include the School of Biological Sciences, Data Science, Public Health, and all majors in the Jacobs School of Engineering.
