Announcements:

• 9^thGraders!  Today is the 9^th grade class council election! Please use the following link or QR code to vote.  ONLY 9^th grade students may vote.  Voting is open until 4:00pm and results will be announced early next week!   Vote here:  https://forms.gle/WTzVzWqVjBz99WCP8   or here:            

• Seniors!  Jostens will be on campus this coming Wednesday 9/4 taking cap and gown orders at lunch!  Please bring your completed order form and your money to place your order. Cap and gowns are $20.75!

• Scots! Next week is our Veteran's Night football game. Be sure you get your shirt before they sell out! They are available in the Finance Office or the Student Store for $25.

• Scots! The library will be closed during lunch but will be open after school. 

• Juniors and Seniors - The procedures are now in place for you to participate in the SAT School Day.  The test is on Wednesday, October 6^thbut in order to take it, you must get signed up by Tuesday, September 3rd!  And since Monday is a holiday, you don't have much time left to get yourself a spot to take the SAT during regular school hours.   The cost is $60 to the finance office but there are also free tests available - go talk to Mrs. Verde in room 2A to see if you qualify.  

• Sophomores and Juniors - The PSAT is still available; however, time is running out to get your name on the list!  Registration closes Wednesday, September 4^th- that's next week!  To get registered you can pay $18 to the finance office or go talk to Mrs. Verde in room 2A to see if you qualify for a free test.  The test will be the morning of October 15^th but only if you are registered by Wednesday.  Don't delay and get yourself set up for some possible scholarships by getting registered today!

• Are you showing Pride, leadership, attitude, integrity and determination on campus? Because PLAID points are back! You can check your PLAID points balance on studentvue and redeem your points for merch. Pens, stickers, shirts, hoodies, charms and more can be yours!

• Attention Scots! If you are interested in joining the Highland Girls Soccer Program this upcoming season, please join us for our informational meeting this Friday August 30th during lunch in Building 3I. Hope to see you there!"

• Scots!  Do you have that Scot's pride?  What's one way to show it?  Buy a Highland yard sign!  We have generic Highland Signs and c/o of 2025 signs - both for $20. Stop by the Finance Office or see Ms. Barber-Smith in the Activities Office.  

• Scots - Did you have to pay to get into last week's football game or this week's volleyball game?  Want to get in for free next time?  Be sure to get an ASB sticker for $25 in the Finance Office.  ASB stickers get you into ALL KHSD sporting events (excluding playoffs) and discounts to dances and other school events.  Don't have your ID card yet? Stop by the library to pick it up so you can get your ASB sticker. 

• Scots! Picture day is this week based on the following schedule:   Thursday is 10^thgraders with their PE classes and 11^th with their English classes and Friday is 9^th grade with their PE classes and 12^th grade with their English classes. 12^th grade is Synergy pictures only.  IF you want to order pictures, please check with your PE teacher or English teacher.

Club News:

• Do you arrive at school early and need a place to go? Are you looking to make new friends, join a team, and learn something exciting? Do you want the chance to compete for medals and potentially earn college credit? If so, Academic Decathlon is the perfect opportunity for you! For more details about the program, stop by and see Mrs. Mayo in Room 8A. Our first meeting will be on September 3rd during lunch in Room 8A. We look forward to seeing you there!

• Scots! Do you enjoy photography? Interested in starting a new group along with other people who also love photography? Come through to 7H on Wednesday, September 4 during lunch for the Highland Photography Collective interest meeting! No experience necessary, all formats - film, digital, instant, phone, welcome! Contact Mr. Salum in 8D or Ms. Mayo in 7H if you have any questions."

• Hey Scots! GSA will have its first meeting on Tuesday Sept. 3 during lunch in Nelson's room, 4PF. Everyone is welcome to join, see you then!
