Announcements:

• Need to make up a grade? Get your grades up before the 3^rd quarter ends next week.

Ask your teachers about Saturday School. If they are not hosting a class, you can still get a permission slip and come have a place to work or make up tests. See Ms. Magness in 5E, Robert Valdez in 14J, or Susan De Lateur in 15-A for more information

• Hi Scots, do you guys have siblings that attend Highland? Do you also want to be in the yearbook? Sibling pictures are being taken for the yearbook.  If you would like to be in the yearbook, come to the library at the beginning of lunch on Thursday or Friday, March 7th or 8^th, to have your picture taken.

• Scots! Are you interested in being part of Student Leadership next year? Do you want to help plan rallies, approve how student money is spent, plan dress-up days, etc. then ASB is for you!  ASB applications are now available in the Activities Office and are due by March 19th. Class Council applications will be available in April! See Ms. Barber-Smith with questions. 

Club News:

• There are only 2 days left to see Coach Smart about boys golf tryouts. Friday is the last day these tryouts are open. Good luck.

• Inviting all Scots! All club members, staff, athletic clubs, and Highland students. Please join the "Clean & Green Club" on Wednesday, March 6, for our next "Great Campus Clean-Up." We will meet in Room 16D at 4:00 PM, clean up/beautify our beloved campus, and then enjoy some pizza around 4:45 PM. Show your SCHOOL PRIDE and join us!

• Good morning, Scots! It’s time for AVID’s college of the week.  This week our school is Long Beach State…known informally as the 49ers. Fact 1: CSULB has an alumni family of over 389,000 and one of their main goals is to promote engagement within their communities. Fact 2: The college holds Super Sunday connecting to represent African American congregations throughout the Golden State. Fact 3: Long Beach also provides a clinical practice in healthcare for Nursing students.

• Congratulations to AVID seniors Elijah Cisneros, Victoria Cisneros, Lesly Garcilazo, Jasmine Vasquez, and Melissa Villanueva for all being accepted into CSULB!
