• Seniors!  If you have not taken your free senior yearbook picture yet, please be sure to schedule an appointment with Carlos Murillo photography as soon as possible.  Only pictures from Carlos Murillo will be used in the yearbook. The deadline is coming soon!

• What? You haven't purchased your ASB sticker yet?  Don't you want to get into games for free all year?  Stop by the Finance Office to purchase your ASB sticker for $25 which will get you discounts on campus and free entry to all KHSD athletic events.

• Sophomores & Juniors - Not sure if you are you ready for college?  Unsure of how to pay for college?  There's a way to do both at the same time!  We are offering the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) which will give you an indication of your academic strengths and areas of growth AND can qualify you for a National Merit Scholarship.  Registration for the PSAT is now open.  The cost is $18 OR free if you are a qualifying junior.  All sign-ups are in the finance office until Wednesday, September 13th.  If you still have questions, contact your counselor.  Get a jump on your future and sign up today!

• Scots! Highland is teaming up with the Kern County Honor Flight for our Veterans Appreciation Night during our football game with Chavez on 9/7/23. We’re selling a one-of-a-kind Highland Honor flight shirt for $25. You can pay and pick it up in the Finance Office from 9/5 – 9/7. Don’t miss out on the chance to show your support for our Veterans.

Club News:

• There will be a Boys Soccer Meeting after school today at 4:15 in the library. All interested players need to attend. If you cannot make it, please reach out to Coach Clif in classroom 5H

• Fashion Club will have its first meeting on Thursday at lunch in 8A.  If you want to be a part of this club, come to the meeting.

• Attention scholars! National Honors Society is holding their first meeting this Thursday (09/07) in 4PG during lunch. See you there!

• Come join FFA this Wednesday (9/6) for a petting zoo during lunch to meet some of our school's student raised livestock that is taken to the Kern County Fair! The petting zoo will be located in the quad area in front of the office. We hope to see you there!
