Good morning, Scots!  It’s time for AVID’s College of the Week. This week our school is the                            University of California, Merced.                                                                                                                          Fact 1: UC Merced is the youngest UC. It was founded in 2005.                                                                      Fact 2: They have a variety of clubs including the go cart racing club and a Greek life club.                      Fact 3: UC Merced has the most sustainable campus of all the UCs and is certified as carbon-                neutral. Congratulations to AVID senior, Maria Tellez, for being accepted to UC Merced!

  • The AVID program would like to say a huge congratulations to senior Andrew Meza for being named a Promise Scholar by UC Santa Barbara.  Being named a Promise Scholar means Andrew will receive support from UCSB throughout his four years, including...drumroll please...a $125,000 scholarship and grant package!!!  Congratulations, Andrew...the AVID Family is very proud of you!
