Announcements:

  • Congratulations to Inara Moua whose Snake Scratchboard art piece won second place at the Youth Art Month competition.  It will be on display from now until March 30th at the Bakersfield Art Association on 19th and Eye Street.  You can also check out some of the other artwork from Highland’s art students that are also on display at the art center.  They are open Tuesday -Friday 9-5 and Saturday 10-4.

  • March is NationalTheatre in Our Schools   Did you know that, according to research on theatre education, high school students engaged in theatre and creating theatrical productions gain an understanding of their voice as a tool for positive change in society. Need proof of this? Just look at the students from Stoneman Douglas High School who have spoken to senators, congress, and even the president. They’re nearly all active members of their school’s theatre program.  Want to learn more about how theatre empowers and raises self-confidence?  See Mr. Thompson in room 8C and find out how you can be a part of the spectacular Royal Scots Theatre Program!

Club News:

  • PODER girls, grab your lunch and head over to 7C during 4th lunch!

  • Pride Club meets TODAY in Ms. Cornford’s room, 4P-D, during both lunches. Come work on your quilt designs, the rough draft is due tomorrow.

  • "It's that time again.  All students, teachers, and staff are invited to participate in the Clean & Green Club's "Great CampusClean-Up" on Wednesday, March 8, right after school.  We will first meet in Room 16D and start cleaning up at approximately 4:10 PM. This event should last to about 4:45 PM.  Come out and help us make our campus beautiful and litter-free."
