Announcements:
- Hey, hey, Super Scots! Get ready to get creepy and kooky, mysterious, and spooky! Auditions for Highland's spring musical, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, are coming up on November 29th through December 1st! Vocal auditions will take place November 29th, Dance auditions will take place November 30th, and Acting auditions will take place December 1st! This show is a going to be huge, so we brought in some amazing individuals for music direction and choreography, Ms. Nichole Heasley and Mr. Jesse Magdaleno! The production is sure to be the event of the year, so don't miss your chance to be a part of it! For more information on auditions and rehearsals, see Mr. Thompson in room 8C! See you there!
- Good luck to our Cross-Country teams as they compete in the CIF Section Championships on Thursday. Jaxson Sweet looks to lead our Boys team after an impressive showing in our league meet. Jaxson will be joined by Gilbert Lopez, Isaiah Perez, Aaron Pitts, Sam Acosta, Gabe Sandoval, and Anthony Renteria. Mia Torrecillas and Lianna Guerra will lead our girls in the Division 2 Championships after they placed 1st and 2nd individually in our League Championships last week and paced the team to an overall victory. Mia and Lianna have continuously been ranked at the top of the section leaderboard for the season and placed 1st and 2nd in last year’s Division 3 Section championship. Our Lady Scots also won the Kern County Championships 2 weeks ago. The girls team representing Highland will be Mia, Lianna, Jasmine Vasquez, Lesslie Mireles, Jaya Sweet, Ali Matney and Surya Cisneros.
- Formal bids go on sale in December - don't be left out!! Make sure you have your debt cleared (library books, uniforms, etc). Are you not sure if owe debt? Go by the Finance Office or check kern.graystep.com. You must also have a current HIGHLAND ID card!
- Who is going to the Sadies dance this week? All the cool kids are!! Sadies is THIS Thursday!! Sadies tickets are currently on sale for $10 at the Finance or $15 at the door. Open only to Highland High school students and you MUST have a current Highland ID card!!
- Do you want to show support to our winter athletes? Do you want to be part of the student section! Do you want to get into Kern High games for free? Be sure to come by the Finance Office to buy your ASB sticker for $25! You must have a current Highland ID card!
- Scots - All transactions at the Finance Office require a current Highland High School ID card. If you never got one or you have lost yours, please go by the library to order another one or see if they still have yours.
Club News:
- Campus Life is a positive place where students can go to have fun with friends, talk about relevant issues and be heard without judgement. It’s a place where students are challenged to make good decisions and lead in positive ways in their school. Campus life meets every Tuesday (including today) during lunch in room 11B .
