Announcements:

 

  • Attention all freshman and sophomore boys’ soccer players. Try outs have been canceled this week and will resume after school at University Park on Monday October 24th."

 

  • AP Students:Don’t miss out – get your payment into the finance office before November 1st for you AP exams so you don’t have to pay the late fee.  After November 1st, all exams will be an extra $40 on top of the regular fee.  That November deadline is approaching fast.  Don’t let Halloween side-line you, get signed up today!

 

  • Scots!! Formal is just around the corner, and you must have ALL debt cleared to attend!  Please turn in any old uniforms and textbooks that you might have lying around!  You can also check in the Finance Office to see what debt you might have.  

 

  • Scots -Do you have your ASB sticker yet?  All the cool kids do!  ASB stickers get you into all KHSD athletic events for FREE (except for playoffs) and discounts on school events! They are $25 in the Finance Office, and you MUST have your current ID!   Make sure you have your sticker to get into all the upcoming Winter sports events!!

 

  • Seniors!!!!  If you have NOT taken your senior yearbook picture yet, please call Carlos Murillio ASAP @ 661-332-4170 to schedule an appointment!!! The deadline is October 28th! That is less than two weeks away!!

 

  • Girls’ soccer will begin conditioning Monday Oct 24th from 4:30 to 6pm. Soccer cleats are required.

  • Good morning, Scots!  It’s time for AVID’s College of the Week.  This week our school is the University of Texas at Austin                                                                                                                                               Fact 1: University of Texas has a 29% acceptance rate and an average grade-point average of 3.0.  Fact 2:  University of Texas is a division 1 school and applications must be completed by              December 1st.                                                                                                                                                    Fact 3: The student to faculty ratio is 18 to 1.                                                                                                  Fact 4: U-T was Founded in 1883 and it is the oldest institution of higher education in Texas       under its original charter.

 

  • Good morning, Scots Family! Do you have a dirty car?  Well, don't wash it yet...wait a few more days and then bring it to the AVID Club carwash fundraiser! The carwash is this Saturday, October 22nd from 9am until 1pm at Les Schwab Tire on Oswell - just South of Bernard St. Your $5 wash will support students whose dream is to be the first in their family to go to college. We'll see you and your dirty car on Saturday!

 

  • Math Club will be offering tutoring for all math courses this week Tuesday and Thursday after school in room 14B.

 

  • Hey Scots, are you ready for the best event of the school year? Pay attention as the event of the year is about to descend upon you. That’s right! The most epic of battles, the struggle of all struggles, an arduous event and test of true grit and determination….. Lip Sync Battle. Do you have what it takes, to take home the coveted Milli-Vanilli trophy? Then grab your friends, club, team, or crew and show us what you’ve got. Signups will be held THIS WEEK, sign up during both 4th and 5th lunch on October 18th through the 20th in front of the WAH. This year’s theme is 70s and 80s, you will need to sign up with who is in your group and who is the point of contact.  Not that it is needed, but FFA will call you out right here right now….. ASB & Drama prepare to not win
