  • Have you read the newspaper?! Of course, you have! We got band camp, we got club rush, and we got..... HOMECOMING! Read our articles by typing hhs-news.com into any device you've got handy. We'll catch you there!

 

  • Boys' Basketball Tryouts will start Mon Oct. 24 for all levels. Check with either Coach Valdez or Coach Smith for times.

 

  • Do you want to send something special to your boo? Boo grams are now available for purchase at lunch outside the Finance Office for $4 this week and next! Grams include a note, Smencil and a sweet treat to be delivered on Halloween!

 

  • Scots! Do you need a poster for someone's birthday? Need a poster to ask someone to a dance!?  Want a poster for your favorite teacher??  ASB can help!  We offer poster making services for a small fee. Stop by the Activities/Athletics office to pick up an order form!

 

  • Seniors!! Yes - you!!  Senior yearbook pictures with Carlos Murillo are due by October 28th!!  Only pictures taken with Carlos will be used for the yearbook.  If you have not taken your free picture yet, please call him ASAP to schedule an appointment!  661-332-4170

 

  • Seniors! Need help filling out your college applications? Join the counselors for college application Mondays! We will be in the library every Monday after school from 3pm – 4pm until November 30

 

  • Hey Scots, are you ready for the best event of the school year? Pay attention as the event of the year is about to descend upon you. That’s right! The most epic of battles, the struggle of all struggles, an arduous event and test of true grit and determination….. Lip Sync Battle. Do you have what it takes, to take home the coveted Milli-Vanilli trophy? Then grab your friends, club, team, or crew and show us what you’ve got. Signups will be held on sign up during both 4th and 5th lunch on October 18th through the 20th in front of the WAH. This year’s theme is 70s and 80s, you will need to sign up with who is in your group and who is the point of contact.  Not that it is needed, but FFA will call you out right here right now….. ASB & Drama prepare to not win

  • ATTENTION ALL FRESHMEN! Link Crew will be hosting a FREE outdoor Movie Night on Wednesday, October 19th. You will need your freshman ID and the outdoor event will take place on the grass area in front of the finance office. There will be FREE popcorn. Students should bring their own drink and a chair/blanket. There will also be pumpkins available to paint and take home!

 

  • Good morning, Scots!  It’s time for AVID’s College of the Week.  This week our school is Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.                                                                                                                          Fact 1: GCU has 73% acceptance rate and requires a minimum of a 2.8 GPA                                            Fact 2: The school offers 7 fully equipped fitness centers on campus.                                                Congratulations to the 7 AVID seniors who attended the GCU campus last weekend. They had an awesome time exploring the school and all its features as well as kicking off the basketball season at the Midnight Madness event!           

 

  • Good morning, Senior Scots!  Are you interested in engineering?  What about being in the military?  AVID's Community Voices is pleased to present HHS Alumnus Mike Jungo, project manager for Chevron.  He will be on campus to speak with students about these topics on Tuesday, October 18 during 6th Go to the College and Career Center in the library to sign up.
