Good morning, Scots! It’s time for AVID’s College of the Week. This week our school is CSU Channel Islands.
Fact 1: Channel Islands average class size is from 19-24.
Fact 2: The nursing program at CI is ranked 11th in the state of CA and has a 100% passing rate for state nursing boards.
Fact 3: Before Channel Islands became a school, it was previously known as a mental hospital!! Also, It is only minutes away from the Pacific Ocean with a panoramic view of the Santa Monica Mountains!

AP students – if you put down a deposit for your AP test in November, the remainder is due by Feb. 25th. Tests that still have a balance after Feb. 25th will NOT be ordered. Make sure to get your payment into the finance office by Feb. 25th. Did I mention, the deadline is Feb. 25th?
Celebrate Black History Month in the HHS Library! Join our Reading Challenge on the Library webpage and check out our Instagram (@all_scots_read) for books you'll love by black authors. Come on in the library and check it out!
Ruby Bridges, at just 6 years old, became one of the first Black students to integrate public schools. The illusion given by using black and white photos makes it seems as if this was all a distant history…yet Ruby Bridges is just 67 years old! We are not that far removed from a time at which communities gathered to threaten a little girl who just wanted an equal opportunity. Know your history and let's all do better :-)
Club News
Overwatch Practice is postponed for the next two week and will resume on Thursday, February 10th. League of Legends Practice and Competitions will continue as scheduled on the Esports website. It is still not too late to join Esports and play LOL or OW for Highland. Stop by 7H and pick up a permissions slip.
