Esports 2022-2023
The 2022-2023 Esports season has ended. But there is still much to do.
"Hey Esports Fans! We are fundraising for: Esports shirts/jerseys for next year, gaming keyboards and to have an end of the year celebratory event for the team. Each participant has a monetary goal, please consider donating or sharing via social media so that they may reach it. We need your help! The Esports fundraising campaign using the Vertical Raise platform goes from now until April 14th. You can help by doing either of the following:

Esports 2022-2023
Hey Esports ENTHUSIASTS!! That's right! I'm talking to you fellow gamers who play Overwatch and/or League of Legends - and maybe Valorant.
The Esports Seasons are upon us!! Tryouts and practices START NOW. League of Legends (LOL) practices start now with the season beginning in September and running through the 1st week in November. Overwatch will begin practice when LOL season is over. Actual practice times are to be determined. If you are interested in representing Highland this season, come by 7H before or after school to get on the Esports list and pick up an Esports Permission slip. You can also email Coach RadDawg7770 at [email protected]. Bring your game face and be ready to play! See you then!

| Season has Concluded. The Highland Scots finished with and 8-4 record in 3rd place in the Roadrunner Division behind Independence and Liberty. In the League Final BHS outlasted a gritty Independence squad to earn the title of League Champions. |
From now until May 21st - Practices are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday after School until 4:45pm.
TEAM Match Play will begin on March 30th.

Two Weeks Practice and Organization for League of Legends: January 3-14th (See Above). Please refer to the Schedule for Match Play and Competition. The first scrimmage will be on Wednesday, January 19th, with all subsequent matches occurring on each Wednesday thereafter until March 12th. On Saturday the 12th, we will visit Ridgeview High School for the Playoff Tournament.

Two Weeks Practice and Organization for Overwatch Teams: March 14 - 25 - Monday through Thursday.
On Wednesday, March 30th, Overwatch Matches will begin and continue each Wednesday until May 18th. Please refer to the Schedule for Match Play and Competition.

The intent for Esports (we are more than just a club) at Highland is to provide an organized structure to: benefit students to improve Strategic Thinking, Socialization, Communication and Collaboration skills, redefine the Athletic Culture (team cohesiveness and sportsmanship), provide an additional Extra Curricular Activity, promote a positive Academic environment via Scholarship and STEM opportunities while maintaining GPA requirements.
On May 4th, 2018, Mr. Raddatz made a presentation on the potential of "Esports at Highland" in front of approximately 55 students. You can access that presentation here.
