Announcements:

• Scots, come join us in hosting our first Feed the Community event! Students can stop by the quad on Monday, October 26th during lunch to pick up a warm meal served and donated from our Highland community partners! Valley Strong will also be handing out vouchers to open a bank account, so you don't want to miss it!  Food will be served until supplies last. 

• Students who are still interested in attending the Native American Heritage Field Trip, please stop by room 3G to grab a permission slip. Deadline to turn those in will be this Friday, October 23rd. 

• Lady Scots! Soccer try-outs begin on Monday October 26^th

• Highland's fall musical, The Lightning Thief, continues this Friday! The musical plays October 23rd at 7pm, and October 24th at 2pm and 7pm! Tickets are $10 at the door, cash only! Join us for this amazing rock musical based on the beloved Percy Jackson books featuring some of Highland's best talent!

• Do you love reading and love competing but just can't find the right place to do both? Look no further than Battle of the Books! We're looking for some well-read competitors to form a team. Teams will read pre-selected books and compete in trivia-style tournaments to test their knowledge of plots, characters, and authors. If you'd love to learn more, join Ms. Nelson and Mrs. Montanio in the library at lunch on Thursday, October 22. All readers are welcome!

• For Thursday: AP Students - this is it!  We are in the last two days to pay for the AP test without a late fee.  You can avoid the line and pay online at kern.graystep.com or bring your payment to the finance office before school, at lunch, or after school.  After tomorrow, no payment will be accepted until November 16th.  You do have the option of putting down a $40 non-refundable deposit and paying the balance in February - but that option ends on Friday.  Don't delay - get it done today!

• Scots!  Do you have any PLAID tokens and don't know what to do with them?  You can either give them to your teacher and have them enter your points in Synergy or come by 4I before school, lunch or after school and turn them in there.  Remember, you can always check your PLAID points in Student Vue under MTSS.  You can also buy PLAID merch there too!  New products are coming soon!
