Announcements:

• Scots! We are excited to announce our 2026–2027 Highland High School Lad & Lass! Our Highland Lass is Mia Salas! Mia has earned national recognition for her incredible talent in musical theatre, including a nomination for the prestigious Jimmy Awards. She is also known for her kindness, humility, and support of her fellow performers. Our Highland Lad is Justin Esqueda! Justin is a four-year football and track athlete, football team captain, and outstanding student with a 3.9 GPA. His leadership, positive attitude, and dedication make him a great example of Scot pride. Congratulations, Mia and Justin!

• SAT students - don't forget to bring your ID card with you to the test tomorrow.  You can NOT use Synergy as an identification - it must be some form of ID card with your picture on it (a driver's license will work as well).  Tomorrow morning report directly to the library at 1^st See you then!

• Auditions for Highland winter play, CLUE, are happening this week on Wednesday, October 21st, after school in the WAH! If singing and dancing aren't your thing, then come out and try your acting skills at one of the funniest plays ever written! Based on the 1980s board game and movie, this production of CLUE is sure to be a hit! For more information, see Mr. Thompson in room 8C for an audition information sheet.

• HHS Debate team meeting on Tuesday (instead of Wednesday) this week in 4G. We will hold club elections. If you’d like to put together a campaign presentation, you’re more than welcome to do so. Grab your lunch and join us in 4G for some debate!

• AP students - this is the last week to sign up for AP exams without the late fee.  The window closes this Friday and won't re-open until mid-November for late payments.  The only exception is for AP Government - if you are taking that exam you don't need to make a payment until February.  All payments can be made online or in person at the finance office until Friday, October 23^rd- all late payments must be made in person at the finance office.  Make life easier on yourself and get your payments in this week!   

• Hey Scots! If you are interested in learning more about history or need help with your history class, make sure you stop by room 4L during lunch. On Tuesdays the History Club offers tutoring and on Thursdays we offer interactive activities!  Hope to see you there.

• Lady Scot's reminder mandatory soccer conditioning begins today Monday October 19^th.
