Announcements:

• Today is Constitution Day, recognizing the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787. The Constitution established the framework of our federal government and remains an important part of American civic life.

• Scots! Homecoming shirts are still on sale until September 18! Get the link on Student Square or scan the QR code at the Activities Office!  (please run 2 days)

• Picture Day is coming quick! Freshman and Senior Photos will be October 1! Sophomores and Juniors October 13! 

• Hey Highland, Varsity Cheer! Please grab your lunch and make your way to Ms. Gordon’s room (3I) during lunch for a quick team meeting to go over some of our upcoming events. We’ll start 10 minutes into lunch, so please be on time and ready to go. We have some exciting things coming up! This meeting is for Varsity only, so we’ll see everyone there!

• National Honor Society! We are having a meeting today during lunch in 5J. See you there! 

• Calling all girls who have already signed up or would like to sign up- you still have time! PODER meeting during lunch today in 12C. Come connect, meet other girls and share your voice, and be part of PODER! Your voice. Your strength. Your PODER!"

• Calling all volleyball players! Interested in playing volleyball, meeting new people, and having some fun after school? Come check out our Co-Ed Volleyball Club this Friday after school in Ms. Bogner's Room 12B! All skill levels are welcome, bring your friends and come ready to play!

• Happy Rally, week everyone! Tomorrow’s dress up day is class colors with freshmen wearing yellow, sophomores in red, juniors in black, and seniors in blue. We can't wait to see everyone at our first rally this Friday during 3rd period!

• Our Senior Class T-Shirts are officially on sale for $15! Stop by the Finance Office before school, during lunch, or after school to purchase yours. The price will increase after the presale ends, so order yours early! HOW TO ORDER: Go to the Finance Office and purchase your Senior Class T-Shirt. Save your receipt and bring your receipt to Mrs. Lindsey’s room (6D). You’ll choose your shirt style and provide your shirt size. We’ll make an announcement as soon as the shirts arrive and are ready for pickup! Don’t miss out on your Senior Class shirt! 

• The HHS Mock Trial team is still looking for a few good competitors.  Stop by room 4G for information and the audition paper.  This is the last week to join so don't delay!

• Juniors - PSAT sign-ups are still happening until Sept 22nd.  $10 at the finance office.  This is the pre-test so you can take the real test in March. Go see your counselor with any questions!

• Seniors - you can take the SAT during school in October, but signups are happening now.  $33 at the finance office by Sept 22nd.  Free exams are available for weekend test dates - see Ms. Yubeta in the Career Center for information.

• AP students - those tests in May will be here before you know it!  A couple of things to do right now.  #1.  Join your AP Classroom - talk to your AP teacher for the code #2.  If you qualify for a reduced fee, you still need to turn in the lunch application.  It is located on-line at the KHSD website under "Nutrition Services" or you can find a paper copy in the front office.  There are lots of people who can assist you in this process if you have any questions - any counselor, Ms. Yubeta in the Career Center, or Mrs. Procell in 4G.  But this needs to be done as soon as possible in order to meet the payment deadline of October 23rd.
