Announcements:

 

  • Today’s Black History Month Fact: William Tucker was the first known African American to be born in the 13 colonies. He was born in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1624. According to BlackPast.org, his parents were indentured servants and part of the first group of Africans brought to colonial soil by Great Britain.

 

  • Seniors! If you haven't purchased your Grad Night ticket yet, time is running out! Tickets are $145 to Universal Studios and are available for purchase in the Finance Office.  You must get as permission slip from the Activities Office first and turn in when purchasing your ticket.  The deadline to purchase tickets is March 13th!

 

  • Freshman Student Council will be selling Valentine Grams at lunch on Tuesday, February 10th for $2 each. Grams will be delivered! Please be sure to know who you are sending it to, along with their 2nd period teacher and room number.

 

  • FRESHMEN!! Link Crew will be hosting a Minute to Win it game day Wednesday, 2/11 at lunch! Winners will receive Highland Gear and PLAID Points! Games will take place in front of the Finance Office!

 

Club News:

 

  • Calling All Artists!!! The Black Student Union is holding an art competition in February in honor of Black History Month. You can submit your best piece of art in any medium with the topic of UNITY to Ms. Moore (4E) or Ms. Dunkel (Office). The BSU Council will vote for the top

three contenders, and the counselors will vote on the winner. The winner will receive a $30 gift card!

 

  • This Wednesday, February 11th, come to Room 7A for the Club America Meeting. We discuss freedom of speech, free markets, and limited government. Can't wait to see you!
