Announcements:

• Attention Class of 2026 seniors. It’s time to order your senior T-shirt. From January 26 through February 10, seniors only may go to the finance office to place their order. Please be prepared to show your Senior ID or your StudentVue and bring your receipt to Mrs. Tatman in room 3E to choose your design. The cost is just five dollars. Don’t miss out on this chance to grab your Class of 2026 senior T-shirt and show your senior pride!

• Seniors - Grad Night tickets are now on sale in the Finance Office!  This year's Grad Night will be at Universal Studios and costs $145 which includes transportation and early access to the park on May 21st. You must have a signed permission slip - available in the Activities Office, and a current HHS ID to buy your ticket. Open to seniors only! See Ms. Barber-Smith with any questions.

• Juniors - This is the last week to sign up for the School Day SAT.  The test will be given on March 4^thbut you need to sign up by this Friday.  Cost is $33 (much cheaper than the weekend test) paid to the finance office.  Friday is the deadline - don't miss out!

• Hey Seniors, do you need some help with scholarships? Come to the Kern Community Foundation Scholarship Workshop on 1/29/26 at 1pm in Room 2A.  You can do one application and enter for 25+ scholarships You need to register at: https://forms.gle/HJFrNkdfaKyLje4Q6 The link is in your Class of 2026 Counseling Canvas page or see Ms. Yubeta in Room 2A or s ee your counselor to get signed up for the workshop.  Signups must be done by 1/28/26.

Club News:

• Hey Scots! Get ready to step into the underworld and sing your way back to the light! Auditions for Hadestown, the Tony Award–winning musical, are coming next week. This powerful retelling of ancient Greek mythology blends folk, jazz, and blues with unforgettable storytelling—and we’re looking for bold performers to bring it to life onstage. Anyone and everyone are welcomed and encouraged to audition. Singing and Acting auditions will be Tuesday, February 3rd, Dancing auditions will be Wednesday, February 4th, and Callback auditions will be Thursday, February 5th. They will begin at 4pm after school. Please attend all 3 days. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or ready to take a leap, this is your chance to be part of an epic, ensemble-driven production. Come prepared, come curious, and come ready to tell this story. Come take the road, tell the story. The road to Hadestown starts here. See Mr. Thompson in room 8C for an audition information form.

• Hey Scots! Join us as Highland High School Drama proudly presents Almost, Maine, a heartfelt and whimsical play about ordinary people falling in and out of love under the glow of the northern lights. Set in a small town where nothing is quite what it seems, this tender and funny collection of stories explores the many ways love can surprise us. Don’t miss this charming evening of laughter, magic, and connection—performed by our talented students! This production opens tomorrow, Thursday, January 29^that 7pm in the WAH! Additional shows are Friday January 30th at 7pm, and Saturday January 31st at 2pm and 7pm. Doors open 30 minutes before the show starts, and admission is $10. We hope to see you there!

• Attention all Track & Field hopefuls! Are you interested in writing, but aren't sure where to start?  Would you like to meet other writers of poetry, short stories, or non-fiction pieces? Please join Creative Writing Club this Thursday January 29^thto learn more and hear about upcoming opportunities to get published!

• If you're keen on joining the team, swing by Coach Matney's (6F) or Coach Dawson's (2C) classrooms for details. Don't miss our important meeting on Monday, Feb 2^nd, 3:10-4:00 PM in the library. This applies to everyone, including those already in pre-season conditioning. Attendance is crucial if you want to secure a spot on the roster! Official season begins February 2^nd!
