Announcements:

 

  • Congratulations to the winners of the Winter Formal Court:  Freshman Prince and Princes: Isaiah Salas & Emily Martinez, Sophomore Prince, and Princess: Zane Rock & Ashley Martinez, Junior Prince and Princess: Joseph Luna & Rylee Perez, Senior King and Queen: Karam Safa & Emily Lineras.  Congratulations to the winners and all the nominees!

 

  • Scots!  Are you cold?  The Student Store has you covered!! Stop by the Student Store at lunch or the Finance Office before school, lunch or after school to purchase a hoodie, beanie, hat, or long sleeve t-shirt to keep you warm!

 

  • Seniors - Grad Night tickets will go on sale starting next Monday, January 22nd.  Tickets are $141 and include early access to Universal Studios and transportation to and from the park.  Only Highland seniors may attend. Permission slips are available in the Activities Office.  See Ms. Barber-Smith with questions!

 

  • Are you 16 years and older and want to give back to the community?  Come by the Activities office to sign up for our annual Houchin Blood Drive on February 9th!   You must sign up ahead of time to donate, be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and have a school ID.  Sign up before all the appointments are filled! 

 

Club News:

 

  • Got the Dot club will have a meeting during lunch, Thursday 1/18, in room 6F. 

 

  • Scots! Highlands Got the Dot Club is competing against other schools in a Coin Wars, and we would appreciate donations from anyone. Coins or cash can be donated in rooms 6F, 7A, 2B, 16B and 15B. Check out @hhsgotthedot on Instagram for updates!
 
  • Good morning, Scots! It’s time for AVID’s college of the week. This week our school is Westmont College Fact 1: Westmont College is Located in Santa Barbara and just a shuttle ride away from Butterfly Beach and East Beach. Fact 2: Westmont is a Christian-based school with small classes and over 80 majors and pre-professional programs. Fact 3: Westmont athletic teams have won nine NAIA national championships and 99 GSAC team championships. Congratulations to AVID seniors Micayla Yubeta and Sam Serrano for being accepted to Westmont!
