Have you checked your kern high email? Staff will not be using REMIND to send out important information to students, starting this month all important information will be sent through kern high email. So be sure to check your emails.

Attention all Scots.  Military day is today during lunch.  We will have Recruiters available if interested.   

 

Have you submitted your college applications and FAFSA? If you have stop by the college and career center and show proof of submission and be entered in a raffle to win a cool prize.

 

 

Do you still need assistance filling out your college applications? Stop by the college and career center in room 2A to sign-up for the November 12th college workshop.

 

Hey Scots! Highland’s Fall play, “A Piece of my Heart,” opens next week, playing Thursday through Saturday! It tells the story of 6 women in the Vietnam war and their struggles during and after the war. Pre-sale tickets are only on sale next Tuesday and Wednesday for 8 dollars! Tickets will be sold at the door for 10 dollars, and veterans and active service member tickets are $5 at the door. Make sure to check us out on KBAK news Monday morning where we will talk about the show! Don’t miss this show!

 

Hey Scots!  How you doin’?  November 21st is right around the corner and this year’s Sadies dance is inspired by the 90’s TV show FRIENDS.  Come dressed in basic 90’s fashion or as your favorite FRIENDS character.  Tickets will be on sale in the finance office for $10 starting Tuesday the 12th and will last until November 21st during lunch.  Tickets @ the door will be $15 so get your tickets ahead of time.  Free tickets will be given to the best proposal.  To enter the contest use Instagram hashtag #hhs2019sadies.  The winner will be announced on the 18th of November.  Can you be more excited? 

 

Have you heard about the November reading competition? 86 Highland English classes are competing to read the highest average number of books for the month. The winning class will get a food prize, the reading trophy, and the benefits of all that reading. Ask your English teacher for more information.

 

Boys and Girls if you just got done with a fall sport, I have Good news, there is still time for you to come out for wrestling. Stop by the wrestling room after school if interested.

 

Who’s ready for baseball?  If you are interested in playing and have your physical in place Coach Garza is practicing Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school on the baseball field.  Coach Garza is holding an extra practice today.  See you there!
