Seniors - Remember HHS Staff will not be reading their emails during Thanksgiving break.  If you need a recommendation or anything for your UC/CSU applications that are due 11/30/19 do it this week.

Friday November 8^th is the last day to sign up for the SAT without paying a late fee for the December 7th, 2019. Test will be given at BC, East, Foothill, Centennial, South, and Garces but MUST be registered online at Collegeboard.org.

Seniors – Saturday, November 30^th is the last day to submit your UC and CSU applications. If you need assistance, please sign up for our upcoming workshops in the college and career center with Mrs. Verde. There is only 12 school days left to get help here on campus.

Have you checked your kern high email? Staff will not be using REMIND to send out important information to students, starting this month all important information will be sent through kern high email. So be sure to check your emails.

Attention all scots.  Military day is this Friday (11/8).  During lunch we will have Recruiters available if interested.   

Winter sports are starting soon!  Do you have your ASB sticker to get into all the Kern High regular season events?!  They are only $20 in the Finance Office and pay for themselves after only a few uses!

Scots – Our next Blood Drive is November 18^th!! If you were NOT able to donate at the last blood drive, please come by the Activities/Athletics Office to pick up a permission slip.  Only students who did NOT donate last time are able to donate this time!!  Permission slips are due by November 15^th!

Baby its cold outside!  Be sure to come by the Student Store at lunch and purchase a cozy sweater for this cooler weather!  We also have some good-looking long sleeve tees in stock to keep you warm too!

Hey Scots! Highland’s Fall play, “A Piece of my Heart,” opens next week, playing Thursday through Saturday! It tells the story of 6 women in the Vietnam war and their struggles during and after the war. Pre-sale tickets are only on sale next Tuesday and Wednesday for 8 dollars! Tickets will be sold at the door for 10 dollars, and veterans and active service member tickets are $5 at the door. Make sure to check us out on KBAK news Monday morning where we will talk about the show! Don’t miss this show!

Hey Scots!  How you doin’?  November 21^st is right around the corner and this year’s Sadies dance is inspired by the 90’s TV show FRIENDS.  Come dressed in basic 90’s fashion or as your favorite FRIENDS character.  Tickets will be on sale in the finance office for $10 starting Tuesday the 12^th and will last until November 21^st during lunch.  Tickets @ the door will be $15 so get your tickets ahead of time.  Free tickets will be given to the best proposal.  To enter the contest use Instagram hashtag #hhs2019sadies.  The winner will be announced on the 18^th of November.  Can you be more excited? 

Have you heard about the November reading competition? 86 Highland English classes are competing to read the highest average number of books for the month. The winning class will get a food prize, the reading trophy, and the benefits of all that reading. Ask your English teacher for more information.

Boys and Girls if you just got done with a fall sport, I have Good news, there is still time for you to come out for wrestling. Stop by the wrestling room after school if interested.

Who’s ready for baseball?  If you are interested in playing and have your physical in place Coach Garza is practicing Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school on the baseball field.  Coach Garza is holding an extra practice Friday this week.
