ASB shows their appreciation for the World Languages Department at Highland High School during Teacher Appreciation Week May 4-8.

Hi!  My name is Joachim Ma and I like to give thanks and appreciation to our teachers at Highland - specifically those in the Modern Language Department.  These are teachers that are willing to teach students a whole new language that they've never spoken before.  That means having to deal with a stutter, a mess up and just having to bear through with us as we learn this language.  The department pushes us - the Foreign Languages Department and for all your guy's hard work.  I myself have been taking Spanish 3 years at Highland from my freshman to the junior year; and ASL was awesome.  My best friend Nick went through ASL and I know he had a great time going through it and he loved it appreciated all the teachers hard work. And, I've had a couple of friends go through French 2 and they loved it. I went through Spanish - my freshman year I had Juarez, my sophomore year I had Esparza; and then my junior year I had... Hello!  My name's Aliyah Frausto.  I wanted to thank the ASL teachers and staff for helping their students through this pandemic and, I - I hope your families are doing well and safe and staying healthy.  Thank you so much for all the help.  …as we learn this language.  And, I'd like to give a shout out to Senora Herrra for having a fun 3rd period and for just teaching me a lot!  So, in the languages that they taught us:  Gracias por sinceros maestros.  Merci, por tu se (inaudible).  Thank you!  We love you!
