General ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 

Several electronic devices have been found.  You can see Mrs. Thompson before school, during lunch, in the dean’s office or after school to identify them.

In need of community service hours? Well, here’s the opportunity.  Volunteers are needed - Please help us on one or both nights of our Safe Halloween event October 30 and October 31 from 3pm-10:00 pm (split shifts available).  Volunteers are needed to supervise bounce houses, handing out candy, handing out trick-or-treat bags, security, line control, customer information and trash pickup. You may also contact Gina, Stephanie, or Amber at 661-437-3330 [email protected] for more information.  Please come by 2A and speak to Mrs. Carter for more information.

 
Seniors: If you get an overdue notice from your English teacher, PLEASE return your books to the Library, and pay your fees at the Finance Office! Don’t wait to take care of your business!
  • Did you know that the Library sells mechanical pencils, gel pens, logo pencils, and pens for as little as 25 cents? Come in to the Library and CHECK IT OUT!

Attention all Lady Scots Soccer Players!  Women’s soccer tryouts start on Monday, October 16th at 3:45-5:00 next to room 7I.  You must have your athletic packet completed and turned into the Athletics Office in order to be cleared to participate.  No cards, no practice.  See Coach Ferralli in 7I if you have any questions. 

Seniors – The senior panoramic picture was Tuesday, October 10th. If you still want to order a senior panoramic picture, it’s not too late! Order forms can be turned in to the Activities/Athletics Office in building 3.  Additional order forms are available there as well. All order forms must be turned in by October 20th!!

If you received a coupon to receive a lamp of knowledge pin stop by the activities/athletics office by Monday October 16th to redeem your pin.

Our HHS Breast Cancer Awareness shirts for our October 27th football game our being pre-sold in the finance office for $15!  Pre-sale is until Monday, October 16th at lunch.  Don’t miss out!!

If you were unable to come to the academic awards from Tuesday, stop by the athletic/activities office in the ASB room to pick up your award.

Club News

  • Hey Chess Club.  It is still not too late to go to the competitions.  The next completion is October 26th (that’s a Thursday).  If you’ve got game (or think you do) stop by 11D during LUNCH this week and pick up a Permission Slip.  If you already have a permission slip – TURN IT IN PLEASE!!  See you then!
 
 

Career Center News

  • To all students, freshman to seniors. Are you interested in participating in the Youth Awareness Program? Stockdale Moose Lodge are looking for students who are interested in public speaking and educating young children to make positive choices in life. The student that completes the program receives high school community service credit, gets excellent experience for their resume, $50 visa gift card on completion of the program, receives $500 if selected and goes to Moose International to compete for a scholarship of $2000 to $12000 dollars. If any students are interested you must attend the Youth Awareness Orientation meeting which will be held at Stockdale Moose Lodge on Sunday, October 15, 2017. For more information, please come by the Career Center in 2A and see Mrs. Carter.

  • COLLEGE SHIRT WEDNESDAYS are back!  STUDENTS & STAFF - Wear your college gear every Wednesday in support Highland’s College Going Culture.  Stop by the Career Center and show off your gear and get a treat!
  • Seniors and Juniors who are interested in taking the ASVAB in November should sign up in the career center with Mrs. Carter in 2A.
  • Seniors are you in need of some assistance with FAFSA? On Tuesday October, 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 we will be hosting a CASH 4 COLLEGE Workshop in the Library. Please have your parent or guardian come and let’s get started on your FAFSA. 2017 Tax returns will be needed that night and we’ll be serving Pizza for all students and parents that complete their FAFSA. Hope to see you there!
